She is known for her strengths-focused, trauma-informed approach and her ability to help young people feel safe, understood, and at ease during appointments. Kim graduated from Monash University with Honours in 2002 and completed Fellowship in General Practice in 2007. She spent over 15 years working in a large Northside general practice in Queensland, where her passion for supporting children and adolescents with mental health difficulties grew. In 2022, she commenced psychiatry training to deepen her knowledge and skills in this area and is now completing her final year of advanced training in child and adolescent psychiatry.

Kim believes in meeting young people and their families where they are, working collaboratively and walking alongside them rather than imposing rigid plans. She places strong emphasis on understanding each young person’s story beyond diagnoses and symptoms, and on engaging families and support networks to achieve the best possible outcomes. Her care is patient-centred, recovery-oriented, and grounded in helping young people recognise their own strengths and unique qualities as they work towards a more hopeful future.
