Requesting Appointments
Please see the Referrals page.
Think Health Specialists will forward your referral to appropriate practitioners. We expect a two week turn around time to allow practitioners to decide if they are able to accept your referral.
New Clients
Please see the referrals page on the main menu for more information. All new patients will need to make a $200 to secure their initial appointment.
Yes, we will always accept enquiries via our contact form or email at [email protected] . We will not accept bookings for appointments.
We are not a bulk billing clinic and we charge above NDIS rates.
Each clinician sets their own fees, which are guided by their relevant organisation’s recommended fee list. For example, our psychiatrists are informed by the Australian Medical Associations Fee List.
At the time of making your first appointment you will be provided with your clinicians estimate fees.
All new patients need to make a $200 deposit to secure their initial booking.
We are happy to accept NDIS clients. Please note that our allied health clinicians charge above NDIS rates.
Full payment is required at the time of the appointment. We provide a reciept for you to claim back from NDIS.
Cancellations
We require all cancellations to be made up to two business days before. There is a $200 cancellation fee.
Keep the clinic fully informed and we will work with you to ensure you get your appointment rebooked.
You must cancel within 48 business hours, otherwise there is a cancellation fee.
Parking and Access at Clinic
There is ample street parking and limited parking in the building forecort. There is also undercover parking is also available at Gasworks. For those visiting Gasworks Plaza for their shopping and dining needs, Think Health Specialists is only a 5 minute walk and provides 2 hours of free parking.
If you require access to disabled parking and have a disabality parking permit, please contact our reception staff who will happily help accomodate your needs.
Emergencies
If you or someone you know is experiencing acute psychiatric distress please consider contacting the following serivces:
- Call 000 or present to your local emergency department if it is an emergency
- Call the mental health access line on 13 MH Call / 1300 642 255 who will be able to direct you to the appropriate serivce. This is a confidential mental health telephone triage service that is available 24 horus a day, 7 days a week
Identifying a mental health emergency is crucial for timely intervention. Signs of a mental health emergency may include:
Immediate Danger to Self or Others: Any imminent threat of harm to oneself or others requires urgent attention. This could involve suicidal thoughts, plans, or attempts.
Psychotic Symptoms: Hallucinations, delusions, or severe disorientation may indicate a mental health crisis requiring immediate assistance.
Severe Intoxication or Substance Abuse: If someone is heavily intoxicated or abusing substances to the point of endangering themselves or others, it’s an emergency.
Inability to Care for Basic Needs: If an individual is unable to meet their basic needs, such as eating, drinking, or maintaining personal hygiene, it may signify a crisis.
Intense Anxiety or Panic Attacks: Extreme anxiety or uncontrolled panic attacks that pose a risk to the person’s well-being should be treated as an emergency.
Sudden and Severe Changes in Behavior: Rapid and alarming shifts in behavior, mood, or personality, especially when accompanied by distress, may indicate an urgent mental health concern.
